Since graduating from Warwick University in July 2017, Sophie has been busy travelling and volunteering for DRM before taking up a full time position in January 2018. Additionally, since 2015 Sophie has been involved with various other LGBT+ organisations and events such as the DIVA Literary Festival, Pride Powerlist Breakfast and Pride in London.
The world we are in today sorely needs diverse role models to create positive visibility, especially for young people. DRM workshops achieve this on a personal level, using storytelling to build empathy and understanding, and teaching people to become more conscious of their interactions with others. I believe in the simple power of kindness and compassion, and acting with acceptance and inclusion as your priorities. The message of celebrating our differences is beneficial and applicable to all.
