Today is the start of LGBT History Month 2017. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality in England and Wales. For us at Diversity Role Models, it's an opportunity to reflect on how far we've come, while still being aware of the vital work that we still need to undertake.
Since we were founded in 2011 we've delivered our ground-breaking workshops to more than 55,000 young people in UK schools. That's 55,000 young people who've been taught that everyone is equal, regardless of their sexuality or gender identity.
We've given LGBT+ young people positive role models so that they know they aren't on their own. And we transformed their peers into the allies of the future.
But as current events around the world show, there is still so much more work to be done. Please consider supporting our work in one of three ways this LGBT History Month. With you help we can continue overcoming stereotypes, confronting prejudice and eliminating hate.
Together we can create a world that sees difference as a cause for celebration rather than division.
Run a sponsored race for Diversity Role Models and get fit while making a difference to the lives of LGBT+ young people. We have places available in the several upcoming races:
