There are a few fundraisers I’d like highlight from the last few months.

In September a group of 10 employees from Lloyds LGBT Network took part in an abseil from the ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Olympic park, and raised over £8,000 with the help of corporate match funding. They are now looking to 2019 and are organising a tandem sky dive for their next challenge!

November saw us hold our own fundraising event at Dingwalls in Camden. We were lucky to have performances from drag artists Crayola the Queen and Diamond Daniels alongside a fabulous DJ set from FKA! The night helped us to raise £4,160. We want to say a huge thank you to all those who joined us as well as to Disney, Gay Times and Diva magazines and Forces for Inclusion who all donated items to our event gift bags.

I'd also like to thank the British LGBT Awards, Sarah Garrett and Dee Stanford, who curated and hosted a wonderful evening of art last week on Friday 7th December. Thanks to their hard week, they raised over £5,000 towards our vital work in schools.

Now that 2018 is drawing to a close. I want to take this opportunity to look at what we have coming up in the New Year:

Bucket Shake

On Thursday 11th January from 6pm we will be visiting the local bars within Soho on a ‘bucket shake’ to help us raise further funds to support our work delivering our workshops and staff training into schools. If you would like to know more or volunteer for this opportunity please email emma@diversityrolemodels.org. If you can't make it in January there will be further opportunities throughout 2019 including the next date on 1st March.

Save the date: LGBT History Month

For the month of February many people will be running events to show support of LGBT History Month and we will be doing the same.

The DRM Quiz returns on Thursday 21st February! Come and join us for a night of testing your knowledge and spending the evening engaged in friendly competition. Keep an eye out on our social media throughout January for more information.
