On Thursday 8th November, Diversity Role Models was announced as the winner of the Gay Times Honour for Education at a ceremony at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. This was followed last night by the announcement that we are the winner of Charity of the Year at the European Diversity Awards, during their award ceremony at the Natural History Museum. The latter included a £5,000 donation, which we're very grateful to Société Générale, the award sponsor, for generously providing this donation.
We are beyond thrilled to receive these two awards. They are a brilliant recognition of our vital work supporting schools to become more inclusive. We simply couldn't achieve all that we do without the support of so many individuals and partner organisations, whether you are giving your time or money to help us make a difference for LGBT+ young people.
We'd especially like to thank our 450+ volunteer role models and facilitators. By giving their time to share their stories in schools, they are helping us develop young people's empathy towards and understanding of difference, so that together we can create a more inclusive future.
